What is THC?
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a chemical compound found in cannabis plants.
Is THC legal?
Yes! In May 2023 Minnesota legalized recreational marijuana. Adults 21 and older are now legally able to possess and consume cannabis, including THC beverages. Only hemp-derived THC beverages and edibles may be sold in liquor stores in Minnesota.
It’s my first time trying a THC beverage.
It’s best to start slowly to find what works for you. First, make sure you’re in a comfortable, safe environment and do not need to drive. Start with a low dose beverage and wait to see how you feel.
How do I know what dose is right for me?
Our stores carry only products with 2.5 or 5 mg of THC per can. A drink with 2.5mg of THC is roughly the equivalent of one alcoholic beverage, like a can of light beer or hard seltzer. A drink with 5mg is typically like a strong beer (like an IPA), a glass of wine, or a cocktail.
How will I feel?
Like alcohol, THC will affect every person slightly differently due to a number of factors like tolerance, age, and weight. You may feel relaxed, chatty, creative, or even silly. Some users even feel pain relief.
How long will I feel the effects?
The duration of a buzz from a THC beverage depends upon your dosage. For a beverage with 5 mg. THC, the effects can often be felt within 10 to 15 minutes and can last between 45 minutes to an hour.
Can I have THC and alcoholic beverages together?
Consuming THC and alcohol together is discouraged, as it can intensify the effects and sometimes lead to feelings of nausea, dizziness, or other negative reactions.
