Father’s Day Beer Pairings
Burgers & Steak
A lighter dark beer, such as a Doppelbock, Schwarzbier, nut brown ale or a light porter pair well with a charred burger or steak. Lightly hopped pale ales also can cut through a burger’s richness and not overpower the food. If a burger is spicy, pilsners and Helles-style lagers will cool the heat and IPA’s will accentuate the heat. Stouts have a dry taste that provides the perfect contrast to a juicy steak.
Pork
Porters and stouts pair nicely with the smoky taste of pork and other cured meats. Flavors of chocolate and coffee add extra waves of complexity. Pair sweet stouts with BBQ pork to compliment the sweetness in the sauce. For brats and hotdogs, look for German beers, such as lagers or Hefewizen.

Saisons and most Belgium-style beers pair well with chicken and seafood, especially those with citrus flavors. Try a blonde ale with chicken or a brown ale with grilled salmon.
