6 Yummy Ways to Transform Brownie Mix

Are brownies the most perfect dessert ever? The facts don't lie: they're fudgy, cakey, chocolaty, dense and delicious, and if that's not perfect, it's pretty close! Even brownie mix itself is magical. From breakfast to after-school snacks, brownie mix can be transformed into endless other baked goodies. Here are six easy ways to bake up a little extra yum.

Brownie Waffle Breakfast

  1. Heat waffle maker. Make brownies as directed on box but add 1 additional egg.
  2. Pour slightly less than 3/4 cup batter onto center of hot waffle maker (check manufacturer’s directions for recommended amount of batter).
  3. Close lid of waffle maker. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle. Repeat with remaining batter.

Brownie & Berries Pizza

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 12x3/4-inch pizza pan.
  2. Make batter as directed on box. Spread in pan. Bake 18-20 minutes. Cool completely.
  3. In small bowl, beat 8 oz cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar and 1/3 tsp vanilla until smooth. Spread mixture over brownie base.
  4. Arrange berries (1/2 cup each) over cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate until chilled; about one hour.

Fudgy Brownie Trifle

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 13x9-inch pan.
  2. Make brownies as directed on box. Cool completely. Cut into 1-inch squares. Place half of the brownies in a 3-quart glass bowl.
  3. Make chocolate fudge instant pudding as directed on box, using milk. Pour half of the pudding over brownies.
  4. Top with half 8-oz bag toffee bits and half an 8-oz tub of whipped topping.
  5. Repeat with remaining brownies, pudding, toffee bits and whipped topping. Cover; refrigerate 4 hours.

Brownie & Fruit Kabobs

  1. Heat oven to 350° F. Make brownies as directed on box. Spread in pan. Bake 28–30 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into 1 1/4-inch squares.
  2. Thread skewers with brownies and fruit. Place kabobs on waxed paper.
  3. In small bowl, microwave 1⁄2 cup chocolate chips and 1⁄4 cup butter on High 1–2 minutes; stirring until chocolate is melted. Drizzle over kabobs.

Mini Brownie Sundae Bowls

  1. Heat oven to 350°. Make batter as directed on box. Fill 12 cupcake liners with 1/4 cup batter. Bake 22-26 minutes.
  2. Press back of spoon into each brownie to form an indent; cool 5 minutes and remove from pan.
  3. Cool an additional 25 minutes, then remove paper liners.
  4. Fill each cup with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and top with sprinkles.

Salted Caramel Skillet Brownie

  1. Heat oven to 325°F. Grease 8-inch cast-iron skillet.
  2. Make batter as directed on box. Spread in skillet. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool 15 minutes.
  3. Drizzle 1/3 caramel topping over brownie. Sprinkle with 1⁄2 tsp sea salt flakes. Cut into 12 wedges. Serve warm.
