Here are a few things you might not know about pumpkins.

Pumpkins are native to Central America, but have grown in North America for thousands of years.

In 2010 at the Stillwater Harvest Fest, Chris Stevens set a world record for the heaviest pumpkin, weighing 1810.5 pounds. Today, the record is held by a Belgian man whose pumpkin weighed 2,624 pounds.

Pumpkins are low in calories, fat, and sodium and high in fiber. They are good sources of Vitamin A, Vitamin B, potassium, protein, and iron.

The largest pumpkin pie ever made was 20 feet in diameter and weighed 3,699 pounds.
