Ingredients
6 cups Kellogg’s Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, or Corn Flakes
1/2 cup corn syrup
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon instant milk powder
2 tablespoons Kemps milk, any variety
Directions
  1. Line an 9x9 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the cereal in a large bowl. In a small sauce pot, add corn syrup, butter, sugar, vanilla, salt, and stir until melted and smooth. Cook over medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble vigorously. Continue to cook 2 minutes, until foamy and slightly thickened. Working quickly, pour the mixture over the cereal, mix well to combine, and press firmly into bottom of the pan. Let cool completely.
  3. For the icing, add powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon instant milk powder and milk to a small bowl; whisk to combine. Add more milk as needed, 1 teaspoon at a time, to reach drizzling consistency.
  4. Remove the cereal treats from the pan and cut into individual bars. Liberally drizzle the milk icing over the bars. Let sit for an hour uncovered, or until the icing is set. Store in an airtight container at room temp up to 3 days.
